Movie Time!

In about 10 minutes one of my favorite movies of all time comes on.

Yes, The Shining.

Who would have pegged me with my all that glitters, everything girly personality as a horror fan?  I absolutely LOVE The Shining.  In fact, right now I am taking an Intro to Horror Films course.  My professor asked us to rank our ten favorite horror movies- the class unanimously chose The Shining (imagine my excitement) I mean, I was on it when he announced we could watch this movie.  I knew I would be doing my film notes (painfully long and tedious) on this movie since I know it so well...and it turned out amazing. 

I'm off to watch the movie though! Tata!

Netflix= Old Movie HEAVEN

I was sitting here fooling around with my Netflix queue.  Something told me to click on one of the "play" buttons to see what happened.  It happened to be Confessions of a Shopaholic so I figured if I got stuck with something I would be okay. Turns out I really can stream movies to my laptop! Woohoo!

I've always wanted to catch up on some older movies...right now I'm watching How to Marry a Millionaire with Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe, and Betty Grable. 

They're all so gorgeous!! I wish I could have lived during the times when women were always dressed and pulled together.  People were so much more elegant back in the day.  And the movies weren't as raunchy as they are nowdays.

I've become really interested in these movies and certain old time actors and actresses because of my last film course which was black and white crime films. *sigh* I miss Dr. Noble.  But I think he would be proud if he saw all of the film noir in my queue.

I think I'll be keeping Netflix.  At least until spring 2011.  Goal: 2 movies a week.
